National Bank of Egypt's (NBE), the country's largest state bank, small and medium-sized enterprises loans portfolio has reached 64 billion Egyptian pounds, Mamdouh Afia – Head of SME Finance Group said. He told Amwal Al Ghad that the direct and indirect loans were pumped into 74,000 projects. Afia further noted that the industrial sector has secured finances of 21.4 billion pounds for 31,000 projects. The bank aims at increasing the industrial sector finances to 100 billion pounds by the end of 2020. On the other hand, the bank has opened a new branch in Robeky City where the leather industry is being revived.
