EGX 30 Surges 0.38%, Citadel Capital 2.23% Up; Early Tuesday

During Tuesday opening session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has posted early gains of EGP 1.5 billion as the capital market has amounted to EGP 389.152 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad at 10:57 a.m. Cairo time (08:57 GMT).
The main index, EGX30 surged by 0.38% to hit 5627.06 p. EGX20 went up by 0.61% to reach 6575.74 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 hiked by 0.91% to hit 538.64 pts. Price index EGX100 rose by 0.69% to reach 896.19 p.
Traded volume reached 7.691 million securities worth EGP 32.940 million, exchanged 1.776 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 103 listed securities; 16 declined 80 advanced while 7 keeping their previous levels.
Arabs were net buyers seizing 11.78% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 3.852 million excluding the deals.
On the other hand, Egyptians and non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 77.3% and 10.92% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 808.710 thousand and EGP 3.043 million excluding the deals.
Leading Shares:
EGX's leading shares witnessed unsteady performance.
Citadel Capital:
Citadel Capital (CCAP.CA) soared by 2.23% to hit EGP 3.67.
EFG-Hermes:
EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) climbed by 1.93% to reach EGP 13.22.
Cairo Criminal Court, headed by Judge Mohamed Reda Shawkat, adjourned Saturday the consideration of the market manipulation case of which the sons of the ousted president Hosni Mubarak, Alaa and Gamal as well as EFG-Hermes CEOs Hassan Heikal and Yasser El Mallawany face charges alongside 5 other businessmen. The court was adjourned until Saturday 7/10/2012.
Talaat Moustafa Group:
Shares of Talaat Moustafa Group (TMGH.CA) surged by 1.91% to reach EGP 4.80.
Orascom Telecom Holding:
Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) rose by 1.10% to hit EGP 3.68.
Mobinil:
Shares of Egyptian Company for Mobile Services - Mobinil – (EMOB.CA) inched higher 0.73% to reach EGP 164.86.
The Egyptian Company for Mobile Services (Mobinil) – (EMOB.CA) announced Monday afternoon that CEO Yves Gauthier's latest statement released by Almal newspaper on Monday regarding delisting from the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) is not completely identical to what he said.
The company added, in a release responding to EGX inquiries, that it has no information about the main shareholder's future plans regarding developing the Group's capital structure. The Group emphasized its commitment to inform the EGX with the company's upcoming updates.
This came after Almal newspaper had published earlier Monday CEO's announcement that the company is considering delisting from the EGX.
Commercial International Bank:
Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) (COMI.CA) maintained Monday's levels at EGP 32.46.
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding:
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) dived by 8.93% to hit EGP 0.51.
Orascom Construction Industries:
Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) inched lower by 0.15% to reach EGP 293.00.
Egyptian investment authority GAFI has approved the method Orascom Construction plans to use to value its business lines before splitting them into two companies, Orascom said on Monday.
It said it would now file documents to the Egyptian Financial Services Authority to issue shares in its fertilizer arm, the business being separated from its construction activities.
"The remaining regulatory requirements to complete the demerger are procedural in nature and are expected to be complete during the fourth quarter," it said.
