Egypt's non-petroleum exports increased 10 percent to $24.826 billion during 2018 from $22.626 billion during 2017. Last December, non-petroleum exports jumped to $2.162 billion. These exports included industrial products of $1.728 billion and food products of $434 million. Non-petroleum exports to Arab League member countries rose to $9.066 billion in 2018, followed by $7.450 billion exports to European Union states, Egyptian General Organisation for Export-Import Control's Chairman Ismail Gaber said on Thursday. Non-petroleum exports to the United States climbed to $1.594 billion last year against $1.309 billion a year earlier, while the non-petroleum exports to African countries surged to $1.521 billion, versus $1.369 billion in 2017. Other countries over the world achieved non-petroleum exports worth $5.195 billion in 2018, up from $4.555 billion in 2017. "The exports of Egyptian Chemical and Fertilizers Export Council went up by 20 percent to $5.399 billion last year against $4.51 billion a year earlier, followed by $2.826 exports of Food Export Council (FEC) up from $2.817 billion, marking a 31 percent growth," Gaber announced. Meanwhile, Egyptian Readymade garments export council (RMGEC) posted a nine percent increase in its exports to register $1.596 billion, compared with $1.459 billion in 2017.
