Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 23 - 07 - 2018

The volume of Egypt's industrial exports rose 18 percent to around $9.922 billion in the first half of the year, from $8.428 billion last year.
Egypt's non-petroleum exports increased 14 percent to $12.773 billion in the first six months of 2018, versus $11.215 billion in the same period in 2017, Egyptian Organistation for Export and Import Control's (GOEIC) head said Sunday.
"The volume of Egypt's food exports reached about $2.851 billion during the first quarter of the current year, compared with $2.278 billion during the same period last year, marking a two percent surge," Ismail Gaber added.
Gaber said that these exports have registered an increase due to existence of 11 Egyptian exporting councils, including Export Council for Building Materials, followed by Chemical Export Council (CEC) and Food Export Council.
As for Export Council for Building Materials, the official said the exports jumped nine percent to $2,875 during the first half of this year, compared to $2,635 billion last year.
"Chemical Export Council's (CEC) exports recorded 2,593 billion in the first half of 2018, from 2,058 billion in the same period last year, marking a 26 percent increase," he added.
"Exports of Food Export Council climbed one percent to $1,443 billion, against $1,434 billion," Gaber said.
In addition, the 11 councils include Agricultural Export Council, followed by Engineering Export Council, Ready Made Garments Export Council, Export Council of Medical Industries, and Export Council for Handicrafts, he said.
