The Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Abu-Zaid Mohamed Abu-Zaid affirmed that the subsidized five-piaster bread will be always available for citizens, denying what was said about replacing the five-piaster bread with a ten- piaster bread with different qualities. General Co. for Greater Cairo Bakeries has six production lines including its production line in El-Talbiya which was earlier stopped. 200 sacks of wheat were allocated daily for El-Talbiya production line. The production of the ten- piaster bread production project is still under experimentation and when it is tested, there will be other production lines for producing such kind of bread. Abu-Zaid noted that the Ministry will not decrease the volume of wheat allocated for the production of the five-piaster bread. A bakery with 24 production lines in 15th of May City will produce the ten-piaster bread at first. If the experiment succeeded, El-Talbiya production line will produce this kind of bread. The Ministry will offer the ten-piaster bread with the aim of providing many alternatives for citizens.
