Sweden will establish its first university in Egypt, to be located in the new administrative capital next year, the project legal advisor Tahoun announced Thursday. The launching of the new Swedish university will be with investments estimated at more than two billion Egyptian pounds ($112 million), Tahoun's founder and managing partner Nermine Tahoun told Amwal Al Ghad. "The office (Tahoun Consultancy) provides the legal consultancies to build the university, which will be owned to a number of Egyptian and Swedish doctors," she added. Founded in 1990, Tahoun Consultancy is an Egyptian partnership firm that has been operating since 2009. It is an advisory company, which is specialising in regulatory advisory and compliance services in the areas of commercial, financial, and business law and practice in the country. Located 40km (24.8 miles) east of Cairo, the anticipated new capital city is part of the Egyptian government's scheme to expand urban areas to deal with the state's rapid population growth and improve the nation's infrastructure. The new city will be a 270-square-mile hub with 21 residential districts to accommodate five million people. It will feature 1,250 mosques and churches, a 5,000-seat conference center, nearly 2,000 schools and colleges, over 600 medical facilities and a park that is projected to be the world's largest.
