Egypt's Building Materials Hit EGP 15 Bln; H1/2012

Egypt's building materials exports have hit EGP 15.13 billion by the first half of 2012, retreated by 11%. Noting that, they hit EGP 16.88 billion a year earlier.
A report issued by the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC), which Amwal Al Ghad received a copy, showed that Egypt's iron and steel exports hit EGP 496 million. The jewelry and precious stones exports recorded EGP 477 million. The exports of aluminum and its products amounted to EGP 350 million. The exports of the quarry and mineral products hit EGP 261 million; while copper exports reached EGP 237 million. Ceramics exports recorded EGP 203 million. Marble and granite exports valued at EGP 159 million; while cements reached EGP 121 million.
The GOEIC report added that Egypt's exports to the Arab countries reached EGP 7.12 billion distributed as follow; Saudi Arabia was the main importer of EGP 2.4 billion, Lebanon of EGP 1.36 billion, Libya of EGP 1.19 billion, Sudan of EGP 473 million, Syria of EGP 336 million, Jordan of EGP 313 million, Morocco of EGP 294 million, Algeria of EGP 213 million and Qatar of EGP 138 million.
Elsewhere, the report revealed that Egypt's exports to the EU countries hit EGP 2.35 billion distributed as follow; Italy of EGP 1.09, Spain of EGP 290 million, Germany of EGP 248 million, the UK of EGP 155 million, France of EGP 149 million, and Belgium of EGP 112 million.
Moreover, the report added that Egypt's exports to the USA have hit EGP 126 million. Exports to Turkey recorded EGP 431 million, China of EGP 719 million, South Africa of 933 million, Switzerland of EGP 683 million and India of EGP 618 million.
