Egypt's state-owned construction firm Arab Contractors says it has won a mandate by Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) to carry out two road flagships in the country. Mohsen Salah, AC's chairman, said Saturday that the first project will include developing and modernising a dirt truck, located 200km from Kampala in south-east of Uganda. The second project will see Arab Contractors carrying out number of water drainages and industrial works for the dirt truck, Salah further stated. The Egyptian company is set to execute the two flagships within a timeframe of 36 months, he added. Besides the two projects, the Egyptian official referred that Arab Contractors has recently implemented a bunch of other mandates, including the rehabilitation of Mulago National Referral Hospital in Uganda. "We will soon start the rehabilitation and expansion of Kayunga Hospital in favour of the Ugandan Ministry of Health, at a value of $13.6 million," Salah said. Arab Contractors has also completed the first phase of Busega Commercial Market worth $5.1 million in Kampala for Uganda's Ministry of Local Government, Salah said, elaborating that this phase is established over 7,000 square metres. "The company delivered the first phase of the project last October," he concluded.
