Ziad Bahaa Eldin Nominated to Prime Minister: Sources

Reliable sources have told Amwal Al Ghad that Dr. Ziad Bahaa Eldin, former chairman of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA), is nominated to form the new cabinet within the coming days just after Dr. Kamal Ganzouri submits his resignation amid Dr. Mohamed Morsi's winning presidential elections.
Egyptian Social Democratic Party MP Ziad Bahaa Eldin is the Managing Director of Ahmed Bahaa Eldin Cultural Foundation, a member of the American University in Cairo (AUC)'s Board of Trustees and the director of the Egyptian Initiative for the Prevention of Corruption.
Dr. Bahaa Eldin has served as the chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) from 2004-2007 and of EFSA from 2009-2010. He has also served as board member of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) from 2004-2010.
Dr. Bahaa Eldin is the Founder and Managing Partner, Bahaa Eldin Law Office and Arab Legal Consultants in Cairo, Egypt. He received his Ph.D. from the London School of Economics, his M.A. in International Business Law (LL.M.), King's College, University of London, and has a B.A. in Economics from the American University in Cairo (AUC), and a Law Degree from Cairo University
Dr. Bahaa El Din has a Ph.D. in Law, London School of Economics and Political Science; a thesis on Legal Aspects of Banking Regulation, LLM International Business Law, King's College, University of London; a BA in Economics (Honors), American University in Cairo and LLB (License in Law), Faculty of Law, Cairo University. He speaks Arabic (native) English and French fluently.
He has a wide experience in financial and corporate matters, as well as in regulatory frameworks and legislative drafting. As a Senior Legal Advisor to the Minister of Economy from 1997 - 2000. Dr. Bahaa El Din was in charge of and had primary responsibility for drafting of several key legislative documents including Unified Company Law, New Capital Market Law, The Central Securities Depository Law, The Executive Regulations of the Central Securities Depository Law, The Mortgage Law, The Executive Regulations of the Mortgage Law, the amendments to the Financial Leasing Law, various amendments to the Executive Regulations of the Capital Market Law. In addition, Dr. Bahaa Eldin has participated as a member in the committees set up by the Ministry of Justice for drafting The Intellectual Property Law, The Money Laundering Prevention Law and New Banking Law.
