Dollar stablised against Egyptian pounds in 19 banks during interbank dealings on Thursday. For the biggest banks in the country, the National Bank of Egypt, Banque Misr, Banque du Caire, Commercial International Bank (CIB), pound was quoted at 16.5 for buying and 16.9 to the dollar for selling. A week earlier, the central bank abandoned the pound's peg of 8.8 to the dollar in an effort to attract inflows of capital and close down a booming black market in dollars.
