Chartis Launches Three New Travel Insurance Products At Annual Celebration

Chartis Egypt Insurance Co. has held its annual celebration in presence of some of the travel companies it works with including Mena Tours, Thomas Cook, East West Travel, Seti First, Astra Travel, Travco Travel and Amadeus Extreme Travel.
Ayman Milad, head of travel insurance administration at personal accident insurance department at Chartis Egypt, said the Company's upcoming strategy is based on electronic marketing of insurance products.
Chartis plans to offer three new products including airline ticket cancellation insurance, flight delay insurance and credit card travel insurance, Milad added.
The volume of airline tickets declined by 10% year-over-year because of the current turmoil Egypt witnesses, Milad noted.
Magdi Ibrahim, director of finance department at Thomas Cook Travel Agency, said travel companies has been facing many difficulties during the last 18 months since the eruption of January 25th revolution which affected negatively tourism industry. However, Thomas Cook has overcome this crisis in cooperation with Chartis through offering new and varied insurance programs.
Thomas Cook is the largest customer for Chartis Insurance and Travco Company follows.
It is worth mentioning that Chartis Egypt Insurance Co. was ranked as the best insurance company in the world in 2010 by Euromoney and the best insurance company in 2011 by Amwal Al Ghad.
