Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 01 - 09 - 2016

Another Egyptian died in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday during pilgrimage, the Egyptian Ministry of Health announced in a statement.
Five Egyptians have died in the past week during pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia. All of the deceased were seniors between the ages of 60 and 80, and they all died on their way to nearby hospitals. The citizens were from different pilgrimage groups.
Abdel Latif Lotfy had lung cancer and died on Wednesday in a hotel in Mecca.
On Tuesday, a senior man, who was among the Interior Ministry pilgrimage group, died en route to a nearby hospital due to an intestinal obstruction.
The ministry had previously announced three deaths since pilgrimage began. On Sunday, an 80-year-old man from Menoufiya died from a heart attack.
Two days earlier, another man also died from a heart attack. The Health Ministry announced the death of the 67-year-citizen from Gharbeya who was part of the Social Solidarity Ministry pilgrimage group. On 25 August, the first Egyptian died from lung and heart failure.
By Tuesday, the Egyptian medical caravan in the pilgrimage examined 4,267 patients and provided them with the necessary medications. Of those cases, 41 were referred to Saudi hospitals, 34 were discharged, and seven others remain under medical supervision.
Eleven patients underwent dialysis over the past week across nine different Saudi hospitals.
There are ongoing awareness campaigns during pilgrimage to ensure Egyptians' safety from infectious diseases, deputy health minister Ali Hegazy said in a statement on Tuesday. The ministry also stated that the capacity of medicines and essential equipment had been reviewed to ensure that it will be sufficient for the entire pilgrimage group.
