Korea upgrades 4 vocational training centres in Egypt with cost of $4.5mn

Egyptian industry ministry developed four vocational training centres in automotive field in cooperation with Korea with total cost of 40 million Egyptian pounds (US$4.5 million).
Trade and Industry minister Tarek Qabil stated Tuesday that the Egyptian government also upgraded 28 centres in wielding field in cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency - JICA with cost estimated at 18 million pounds.
The minister made these remarks during inaugurating weaving, textile, dyeing, and knitwear sections at Vocational Training Centre at Shoubra El Kheima after being upgraded.
The centre was developed in cooperation with India that provided it with 17 new machines with total cost estimated at 4.2 million pounds.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Egyptian International Cooperation Minister Sahr Nasr, and India ambassador to Cairo, Sanjay Bhattacharyya.
Minister Qabil noted that the ministry is executing a plan to rehabilitate and upgrade around 44 vocational training centres over 19 governorates.
The plan targets developing the centres through providing them with equipments and modern machines to guarantee that the trainers receive theoretical and practical programmes that qualifying them to labour market.
On other side, Minister Nasr asserted that vocational training sector is very important since it provides trained labour for all productive sectors.
She noted that international cooperation ministry enhances all projects supporting Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) sector.
Moreover, Nasr clarified that the newly-opened project reflects the deep Egyptian-Indian relations.
