Egypt, South Korea sign declaration of intent to boost SME ties

Egypt has signed on Saturday a Declaration of Intent for a cooperation framework agreement with South Korea in field of small and medium-sized businesses.
Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr has signed the agreement in New York City with South Korean SME Minister Young-Sup Joo, on the sidelines of the International Council for Small Business World Conference (ICSB 2016).
ICSB 2016 takes place in New York during June 15-18.
ICSB brings this year the world's foremost NGOs, scholars, social entrepreneurs, policy-makers and others to present research and to discuss current issues facing the world around us.
A key component of the conference is the participation of the UN to support the continued implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Minister Nasr said the declaration comes to follow up the results of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's recent visit to South Korea earlier in March. It crowns both Egypt and South Korea's willingness to boost bilateral economic cooperation in the SMEs field, she added.
The declaration aims to support bilateral relations in fields of trade, investment, and technical cooperation as well as to organise training courses for small business owners, establish joint projects, and invite SMEs from both countries to take part in Cairo and Seoul-led exhibitions.
