Egypt reshapes Egyptian-Japanese Business Council

Industry and Trade Minister Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour announced Saturday a decree to reshuffle the Egyptian side of the Egypt-Japan Business Council.
The new council will be presided by Ibrahim Elaraby, Founder of El-Araby Group, for three years.
As pursuant to the minister's decree, the new board members of the Egyptian-Japanese Business Council (Egyptian part) currently include:
Shady El Manzalawi – Vice Chairman of leading manufacturer and supplier of air conditioning system in Egypt and Middle East, Tiba Manzalawi Group;
Ahmed Monsef - CEO of Toyota Egypt Group;
Mohsen Salah – Chairman of Arab Contractors Company;
Alaa Saba - CEO of Beltone Financial;
Mohamed Shimy - Chairman of Petrojet;
Ibrahim Ghattas – Chairman of Engineering Automotive Corporation (SMG);
Mervat El-Talawy - Head of the National Council for Women;
Hesham El-Zemeity – Egypt's former ambassador to Japan;
Sameh Khodeir – Senior Partner at Zaki Hashem & Partners Attorneys;
Ali Tawfik – Chairman of the Egyptian Auto Feeders Association (EAFA);
Mohamed Abou El Enein - Chairman of Ceramica Cleopatra Group;
Ahmed El-Gohary - President of Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology;
Bahaa Zaghloul – Chairman of Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS) Alumni Society;
Ahmed Abdel Fattah – Chairman of the Egyptian Company for Trade & Contracting;
Mamdouh Ali – Chairman of Global Business & Consultant Company;
Bahig El-Gohary – Chairman of Bahi Travel;
Kamal Al Raei - Chairman of MAC Carpet Company;
Nader Riad - President & CEO of Bavaria-Egypt; and
Emad Shaker – Chairman of Japan Food Solutions.
In addition to the reshuffle, the ministerial decree also stipulated that the Council shall submit a half-annual report to the Egyptian Minister of Industry and Trade, involving its activities, future plans, and suggestions to develop the mutual interests for both countries.
Moreover, the Egyptian minister Abdel Nour said the council would play a significant role in supporting and developing the trade between Egypt and Japan in addition to encouraging the Japanese private sector firms to start joint projects in Egypt in various sectors.
