Egypt Bourse to take part in Cyprus Economic Conference in May
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 30 - 04 - 2015

Cypriot Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides has invited Egyptian bourse's chief Mohamed Omran to take part in Cyprus' Economic Conference 2015. The conference will take place next May 27-30.
As being one of the most important emerging markets, Omran is set to discuss the Egyptian Exchange (EGX)'s development experience, during Cyprus conference.
The conference will encompass large participants of high-profile investment leaders and figures worldwide in addition to executive directors of some major firms. The Cypriot event aims to discuss means of alluring investments and deepening levels of international cooperation between nations to eventually achieve sustainable development.
From his part, EGX chairman Mohamed Omran said his bourse's participation in the event reflects the deeply rooted relations between Cairo and Nicosia.
Through his participation, Omran said he intends to highlight the EGX's leading role to achieve sustainable development.
EGX: Pioneer in Sustainability Efforts
The Egyptian Exchange was one of four pioneer exchanges that joined the United Nations' Sustainable Stock Exchanges initiative (SSE) in 2009. The aim of the initiative, founded by the UN Secretary-General is to increase exchange-listed companies' transparency and commitment to environmental, social and corporate governance issues.
Earlier this month, the UN Sustainable Stock Exchanges initiative (UN SSE) hailed Egypt's bourse efforts in the field of sustainable development in the Middle East and North Africa.
The Egyptian bourse said the panel which was formed as part of the UN initiative on the sustainability of bourses published effective communication models with the parties to the market for 11 stock exchanges topped by the EGX.
The EGX was chosen as a model to effectively communicate with market parties in February.
