Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 29 - 04 - 2012

Sabre Travel Network Middle East (STNME or Sabre), a global technology company serving travel suppliers and agencies, has joined hands with Egyptian Travel Agents Association (ETAA), a non-profit organization established in 1968 to develop and promote Tourism in Egypt, to offer courses to train Egyptian travel agents.
Highlighting Sabre's support of the Egyptian travel industry, this is the second organization to be certified by Sabre this year.
Sabre will provide ETAA with the necessary software and training support needed to start offering Sabre certified training and development modules for travel agents.
Daniel Naoumovitch, CEO, Sabre said, "With over 2155 members, ETAA is an organization that is critical to the development of the Egyptian travel and tourism industry. Sabre is a company that has always invested in Egypt and helped bringing international product and services to the local players. The ETAA - Sabre agreement is a natural partnership that will benefit us both."
"In the past year, we've opened a new office in Alexandria, revamped our office in Cairo, enhanced our relationship with Egypt Air and many local travel agencies, and we continue to invest in partnerships with the local travel industry. Today's announcement reiterates the importance of the Egyptian market to our strategic vision and our commitment to helping the industry is successful for regional growth," added Naoumovitch.
Amr Sedky, vice president of ETAA and president of the organization's training committee said, "Our primary goal is to support Egypt's travel agents. By partnering with Sabre, we have taken a giant step forward towards achieving that goal. Their specialized training modules will acquaint travel agents with one of the world's best technology systems and familiarize them with Sabre's portfolio of products and services. Helping the agencies all over Egypt provides world-class customer service and improving their efficiency at the same time, the Sabre-certified training will help businesses achieve growth in a highly competitive environment."
Established by a decision from the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, ETAA works on behalf of the Egyptian travel agencies and tour operators. Representing them in front of the tourism authorities, the organization coordinates and facilitates TMC needs. Working closely with the Ministry of Tourism, the Egyptian Tourist Authority, and Egyptian Tourism Federation they promote tourism in Egypt.
Sabre operates 21 offices in 11 countries across the Middle East and North Africa region, including offices in Cairo and Alexandria in Egypt. Operating one of the travel industry's largest marketplaces, over $100bn of travel purchased through the Sabre GDS every year, according to ameinfo.com
