Egypt's ICT Minister asks Mobinil , Vodafone to upgrade Network's Efficiency

Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Khaled Negm has visited Sunday the premises of Mobinil and Vodafone in Smart Village to review the exerted efforts to improve the efficiency of networks and communications services.
He has stressed that ICT sector enjoys vital role in Egyptians' daily lives and an essential tool of communications and business, asserting that citizens should perceive improvement of communications and internet services as soon as possible nationwide.
The minister stated that it is important to deal with the customers with transparency and they should have quick response to complaints related to services quality.
Negm has praised the fruitful cooperation between the Ministry , mobile operators in Egypt and Telecom Egypt, to undertake technical installations and provide necessary support to networks, during the event of Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC) and the Summit of the League of Arab States, taking place in Sharm El-Sheikh.
During the visit, Negm met with Vodafone Egypt CEO, Ahmed Essam and a number of firm's executive leaders. Negm got acquainted with Vodafone's working system and investments in Egypt estimated at EGP 9.5 billion (US$ 1.2 billion) over 3 years, to support communications infrastructure and improve services.
Negm also viewed Vodafone's control center and discussed challenges that the firm faces as well as the means to cooperation with the Ministry and agencies to upgrade the sector to provide customers service with good quality.
Furthermore, the minister visited the technology sector at Mobinil, owned by Orange group, and met Yves Gauthier -Managing Director- and number of leaders.
Negm visited the control, operations and networks surveillance room, to showcase the network operations management that displays network's locations all over Egypt, and different operations management including malfunction problems and follow-up.
Moreover, Mobinil staff in the control and operations room explained to Negm the problems that the firm faces and cause some malfunctions.
