Government Allocates Free Lands For Public Authorities: Cabinet
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 30 - 03 - 2015

The government resumed its decision to allocate new state-owned lands for free to a number of public authorities to establish buildings that offer services to citizens.
This is part of governmental efforts to implement development plans and provide citizens with services, according to Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb.
The governorates to be included in the plan are North Sinai, Qena, Sharqeya and Minya, according to the Cabinet's official spokesman, Hosam Qawish.
According to a Cabinet statement Sunday, Mehleb approved the allocation of lands for free to serve the public interest. Two land parcels are in Al-Taweel village, in Al-Arish, North Sinai, for the benefit of the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater (HCWW) to establish two sewage stations.
Last week, the government allocated large areas of land that were distributed in several governorates, including South Sinai, Sohag, Beheira, and North Sinai, to establish buildings offering public services and benefit citizens.
Regarding South Sinai governorate, the Cabinet agreed to allocate 415,200sqm for free to the Social Affairs Directorate. This will, according to the Cabinet statement, be used to launch an old age home, in one of the neighbourhoods of El-Tor City. This comes in addition to allocating 12,690sqm, also for free, to the South Sinai Security Directorate, to launch an office of Civil Protection Administration, in the same city.
The government has also allocated a piece of land in the Qena governorate to launch a landfill, as part of the support provided by Ministry of Environment to the neediest villages. This comes in addition to a piece of land, owned by Belbais City Council, in Sharqeya governorate to the Directorate of Health Affairs to launch an office for a health administration, a health bureau and a child care centre.
The government also allocated a piece of land in Minya governorate to the Directorate of Education to launch an educational complex. This will include primary, secondary and high schools, in addition to a piece of land in governorate of Menufiya to launch an Al-Azhar institute.
Another two pieces of land were allocated in Sharqeya governorate. The first one will be used for the Security Directorate, to launch a unit for the fire department. The second is for the National Social Insurance Authority (NSIA) to launch an office of the Authority, in addition to a piece of land donated by a citizen to HCWW in order to launch a sewage station.
