Egypt is hosting today the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO)'s Symposium, entitled ‘Analysing Aviation Data.' The event is being taken place during the period from October 27-29. In this respect, Captain Mahmoud El Zanaty – Head of the state-owned Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority – has inaugurated Sunday the ICAO's Symposium. The event focuses on methods of enhancing the quality and quantity of flight data which are being sent to the ICAO as well as the concerned civil aviation authorities. The classification, analysis, and provision of flight data are pivotal to develop the aviation sector, in terms of increasing safety rates and boosting the monitoring of operational as well as financial efficiency for the civil transport companies, airports and air navigation. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is a UN specialized agency, created in 1944 upon the signing of the Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago Convention). ICAO works with the Convention's 191 Member States and global aviation organizations to develop international Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) which States reference when developing their legally-enforceable national civil aviation regulations.
