The campaigns of presidential contenders Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Hamdeen Sabahi said on Tuesday they have filed formal complaints against the Presidential Elections Commission's decision to extend voting by one day. The commission extended the voting until Wednesday to provide Egyptians, especially those who are currently residing outside of their hometowns, with the opportunity to cast their votes. In a statement it issued, the commission said its decision comes due to the high temperature during the day and the increasing turnout of voters in the evening. Mohamed Bahaa al-Din Abu Shaqqa, Sisi's legal advisor, filed a formal complaint to the Presidential Elections Commission against the decision to grant Egyptians an extra day to cast their days, Sisi's official Facebook page reported. On the other hand, Sabahi's campaign also said it rejected the extension and filed a formal complaint to the commission to protest the same decision.
