Egypt's Exports to Turkey Jump to EGP841 million in January

Despite unstable diplomatic relations between the two countries in the aftermath of June 30 uprising, Egypt's exports to Turkey surged 21% to around EGP 841 million in January 2014. In comparison, the exports reached in January 2013 value of EGP 694 million.
Upon higher Turkish demand, the North African country's January 2014 exports are marking their highest level against figures posted for the same month throughout the past 3 years, senior government sources said on Saturday.
According to senior sources from Foreign Trade Sector of the Egyptian cabinet spoke to Amwal Al Ghad's Arabic website on Saturday, Egypt's exports to the Turkish market were notably in fields of chemicals and fertilizers, besides textiles, agricultural crops, food products, ready-made clothes, and furnishings.
Egyptian exports of chemicals and fertilizers to Turkey captured the lion's share attaining around EGP 466 million, followed by textiles of EGP 147 million.
