Engineers' Syndicate Withdraws Confidence from Board

Egypt's Engineers Syndicate has withdrawn confidence from syndicate head Maged Kholousi and the syndicate's pro-Muslim Brotherhood board after a no-confidence vote against it.
Hundreds of the Syndicate of Engineers members cast their votes on Friday for a motion of no-confidence against the syndicate's board.
Kholousi and the board members are loyal to the Brotherhood.
Out of 15,843 votes, there were 15,773 valid votes.
The number of 'yes' votes reached 8,887.
After the vote's result was announced, a number of attendees clapped and chanted anti-Brotherhood slogans.
Egypt's Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Mohamed Abdel Motteleb, who is the syndicate's general supervisor, has urged engineers to take part in the syndicate's extraordinary general assembly meeting held at Cairo Stadium on Friday.
The general assembly called for a no-confidence vote against the syndicate's current board because of its failure to fulfill its electoral promises, the state-run Middle East News Agency reported.
