Egyptian Telecom Ministry Launches PLUTO Tablet in Collaboration with AOL, Intel

GITEX Technology week 2013 one of the biggest and most important IT and business events in MENA region which lasted over 4 days and Egypt participated in it headed by Eng. Atef Helmy, the Egyptian Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for the event of launching PLUTO tablet in collaboration with Arab Organization for Industrialization(AOI) , Intel which is the first tablet to be assembled in Egypt with Intel.
The PLUTO tablet with Intel Inside will strike the Egyptian market with the balance between price, performance and elegant design and is specifically designed for cost-conscious consumers and first-time tablet buyers who do not want to sacrifice device performance or user experience over cost.
The PLUTO tablet with Intel Inside will be available for sale in Egypt across different retail stores by end of this year 2013 through Nordix Egypt, who will be responsible for the supply, marketing, distribution and sales of the product and will be offered for the price of 1777EGP.
The PLUTO tablet with Intel Inside is based on the 32nm Intel Atom Z2460 processor with Intel Hyper-Threading Technology that can achieve speeds of up to 1.6 GHz. It includes impressive multi-tasking and performance capabilities, 5 point capacitive touch screen as well as Wi-Fi, 3G capability through USB, 16GB eMMC memory and access to millions of apps and all in a rugged design ideal for computing on-the-go.
The Minister has held many bilateral meetings with the leaderships of global firms which are operating in ICT sector, including HP, Oracle, IBM, Google, Ericsson, Vodafone, Microsoft, and EMC, Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent, BG Firm for global solutions and innovative sales; institutions Arab contacts such as Etisalat, Du, S TC Arabia.
Within these meetings , it has discussed the most important new mechanisms developed by the Egyptian government to attract more investment to the Egyptian market, in order to provide more job vacancies in the sector, and to make the best use of high-tech skills for Egyptian youth in this area.
The minister witnessed during his stay in Gitex the signing of a partnership agreement between Vodafone Egypt and UAE Saad Group aims to open new markets for Egyptian emerging companies sponsored by Vodafone through its project management xone by support entrepreneurship.
