Egypt's East Port Said region is rapidly developing into a major industrial and logistics hub, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said on Thursday, as the government inaugurated a series of new projects in the area. Speaking at a press conference, Madbouly said the developments reflect a long-held national vision to maximise the Suez Canal's potential, transforming it from a shipping route into a fully integrated industrial and commercial zone with modern ports, factories, and job opportunities. "The East Port Said region is witnessing a surge in both foreign and domestic investment, alongside significant expansion in industrial and service projects supporting global trade," he said. Madbouly highlighted presentations by the Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development Kamel El-Wazir and the chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority (SCZONE) Walied Gamal El-Dein, which showed rapid growth in industrial and logistics activities and a notable increase in direct and indirect employment. The recent data is reinforcing the area's position as a magnet for international investment. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
