The Egyptian Information and Communication Technology Minister, Eng. Atef Helmy, has welcomed Nicholas Jonathan Read, the Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Group of Vodafone Hutchison Australia Pty Ltd. The National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority(NTRA), Eng. Hisham Al-Alayli, Hatem Dowidar, CEO of Vodafone Egypt, Khaled Hegazy, External Affairs Director at Vodafone Egypt have attended the meeting. Throughout the meeting, the timetable of the ICT sector has been reviewed and the most important submitted projects especially ‘Broadband strategy' ,the unified license and the issues which related to the infrastructure communications. Read said the Egyptian telecom market is a promising and unique, Vodafone is keen on continuing its investments in Egypt, asserting that Vodafone is seeking to develop its activities and to establish global center for the international services in the Egyptian market. Read explained that Vodafone understood the challenges which passed by the telecom sector and the current Egyptian economy. The minister said the current cooperation with Vodafone which certainly is in the interest of the telecom sector and information technology.
