Egypt's Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk announced that the government has, for the first time, fully financed the export rebate programme from the state budget, allocating EGP 45 billion this year, during the Engineering Export Council summit. He said 50 percent of exporters' arrears have already been repaid in cash, with the remainder settled through offsets with government dues, including taxes, insurance, and energy bills. The minister added that the flexible budget for this year allows exceptional measures to respond to exporters' needs. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
