Egypt's Medium, Small and Micro Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) has provided 57.9 billion Egyptian pounds in financing to small and medium-sized projects over the past 11 years, creating about 3.4 million jobs nationwide, CEO Basil Rahmy said on Monday. Speaking at the inaugural session of the GAFI CLUB series, organised by the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) with the Egyptian Private Equity Association (EPEA), Rahmy said MSMEDA was advancing policies to support entrepreneurship, stability and sustainability. He pointed to the agency's venture capital programme, launched with the World Bank, as showing promising results, with preparations under way for a second phase. Rahmy also welcomed new tax incentives introduced under Law 6/2025, implemented by the finance ministry and the Tax Authority, which he said would encourage young people to pursue self-employment.
