Egypt's Medium, Small and Micro Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) signed an agreement on Thursday with the National Institute for Planning and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to update its strategy and prepare an executive plan with clear roles, responsibilities and performance indicators. According to a Cabinet statement, the deal will create a new strategic framework for MSMEDA through 2030, aimed at boosting job creation, supporting industrial and productive projects, and driving sustainable growth in line with Egypt's Vision 2030. The agreement also focuses on improving the business climate for small firms, particularly in green economy projects and digital transformation, while enhancing investment readiness and private-sector participation. "The agreement with the institute will produce a strategic document that is actionable and adaptable to fast-changing economic and social conditions," Basel Rahmy, MSMEDA CEO said. "It will also set out a comprehensive implementation plan with mechanisms for regular monitoring and evaluation to ensure goals are achieved transparently and efficiently, fully aligned with national development strategies while remaining flexible and responsive at both the local and global levels."
