Egypt's Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Hassan El-Khatib met Wednesday with Tunisia's Trade and Export Development Minister Samir Abid to explore ways of strengthening bilateral economic ties and expanding cooperation across Africa. According to a ministry statement, the talks focused on increasing trade and investment flows, fostering private-sector partnerships, and identifying priority sectors for joint projects. El-Khatib said economic relations with Tunisia are a cornerstone of Egypt's regional cooperation strategy, adding that Tunisian firms could play a larger role in Egyptian investment and development projects. Abid underlined Tunisia's commitment to boosting trade with Egypt and called for adopting a successful model of economic partnership that could be extended to African markets under continental trade agreements. The ministers also discussed Egypt's plans to establish six logistical hubs for exports in key African countries and enhance regional transport links, with Tunisia seen as a potential partner in expanding access to African markets.
