Egypt's Petroleum Minister, Karim Badawi, met with Shell Global Integrated Gas President, Cederic Cremers, to review the company's gas investments, particularly in the West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) area. Cremers confirmed Shell's plans to expand in Egypt, including a new production phase in WDDM, seismic surveys, and development of the West Mena field in the Mediterranean. The two sides discussed the outcomes of the tenth and eleventh phases of production, with output already underway from Phase 11, and explored plans for new phases and further exploration. Talks also focused on regional cooperation, including Shell's role in developing Cyprus's Aphrodite field and transporting its gas to Egypt for processing and re-export via existing infrastructure, notably the Idku LNG plant. Badawi reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to supporting partners, increasing domestic production, and strengthening the country's position as a regional energy hub. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English
