Samsung Electronics has secured a $16.5 billion contract to supply semiconductors to Tesla, as confirmed by a regulatory filing from the South Korean company and posts made by Tesla CEO Elon Musk on social media. The memory chip manufacturer, who did not disclose the other party involved, stated in its report that the contract became effective on July 26, 2025, for order receipt and would conclude on December 31, 2033. "Samsung's giant new Texas fab will be dedicated to making Tesla's next-generation AI6 chip. The strategic importance of this is hard to overstate," according to Musk. Samsung previously announced that the specifics of the agreement, such as the counterparty's name, will remain confidential until the end of 2033 at the request of the other party to safeguard trade secrets.
