US Senator Lindsey Graham said President Donald Trump plans to impose 100 per cent tariffs on countries that continue purchasing Russian oil, including China, India, and Brazil. Speaking to Fox News, according to TASS, Graham stated that these three nations account for roughly 80 per cent of Russia's oil exports. "Trump is going to impose tariffs on people that buy Russian oil," he said, adding that such countries will have to choose between the American economy and Russia. Graham is currently listed in Russia's registry of terrorists and extremists. The proposed tariffs, if enacted, would mark a sharp escalation in US efforts to restrict Russia's energy revenues.
