Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawy met with Raj Khatri, Head of Metals and Mining Investment Banking for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Canaccord Genuity, to discuss potential cooperation in the country's mining sector. The meeting, held on the sidelines of the Egypt Mining Forum 2025, explored ways to attract new investment and bring more mining areas onto Egypt's investment map. Khatri, visiting Egypt for the first time, expressed the investment bank's strong interest in the local market and praised the country's growing potential as a regional mining leader. Minister Badawy highlighted Egypt's rich mineral resources and reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to expanding partnerships with international firms under its mining development strategy. He also called for accelerated coordination between Canaccord Genuity and the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA) to identify areas of mutual cooperation.
