Egypt's Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad and Minister of Local Development Manal Awad officially announced the handover of a newly completed fixed Intermediate waste station in the city of Tala, Menoufia Governorate, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the country's integrated solid waste management infrastructure. The Tala facility was constructed at a total cost of EGP47 million and is equipped with modern machinery, including four Renault C440T tractors with 40-cubic-metre rear-tipping trailers, a Caterpillar 910K loader with a 1.3-cubic-metre bucket, a washing unit, a compressor, and a 100-tonne weighbridge. Minister Awad noted that total investments in the waste management system in Menoufia have reached EGP 282 million. She emphasised the government's commitment to closely monitor project implementation to maximise benefits on the ground and quickly deliver tangible improvements in environmental services for citizens.
