Trade volume between Egypt and the Group of Seven (G7) countries reached $29.7 billion in 2024, up 14.2 per cent from $26 billion in 2023, the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) reported. Egyptian exports to the G7 rose 10.5 per cent to $9.5 billion in 2024, compared to $8.6 billion the year before. Italy was the largest importer of Egyptian goods, followed by the US, the UK, France, Germany, Canada, and Japan. Meanwhile, imports from the G7 countries reached $20.2 billion worth of goods in 2024, up 16.1 per cent from $17.4 billion in 2023. The top exporters to Egypt were the US, Germany, Italy, the UK, France, Japan, and Canada. The US ranked first with $3 billion, followed by the UK, Italy, France, Germany, Canada, and Japan. Egyptian investments in G7 countries fell to $6.3 billion in FY2023/2024, down from $7.3 billion in the previous fiscal year. Italy remained the top destination with $2.9 billion, followed by the US, the UK, France, Germany, Canada, and Japan. Remittances of Egyptian expats in G7 countries climbed 23.1 per cent to $3.2 billion in FY2023/2024 from $2.6 billion the previous year. The US led with $2.1 billion, followed by the UK, Germany, Canada, Italy, France, and Japan. Meanwhile, remittances from G7 workers in Egypt reached $133.4 million in FY2023/2024, up from $128.6 million a year earlier.
