Egypt's Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk held a meeting on Sunday with officials from the Holding Company for Food Industries (HCFI) to review the status of the country's strategic stockpile of essential commodities and ensure continued availability and stable distribution. The meeting comes as part of efforts to safeguard market stability and food security amid ongoing regional unrest and economic volatility. Discussions covered supply levels, production output, and the efficiency of transport and distribution to consumer complexes, Gamaeiti outlets, and ration card grocers. Farouk emphasised the importance of daily monitoring and maintaining a secure reserve in light of global and regional economic pressures. He also called for stronger coordination between HCFI and its subsidiaries, as well as deeper partnerships with producers and suppliers to ensure resilient supply chains and improved service quality.
