Egypt's Housing Ministry has signed a letter of intent with China's Ministry of Housing to boost cooperation in knowledge exchange, skills development, and investment in Egypt's housing and urban development sectors, as per a Cabinet statement. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Egypt's minister of housing, underscored the importance of boosting investment in mega projects and localising construction-related industries in line with the state's directives, according to the statement. China's Vice Minister of Housing Dong affirmed his country's willingness to expand practical cooperation in housing, urban development, and infrastructure, emphasising Egypt's leadership in these fields, the statement added. Assistant Minister of Housing Abdel Khalek Ibrahim presented Egypt's urban development strategy, which includes doubling urban areas from 7 to 15 per cent of the country's total area since 2010.
