Egypt's Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Sherif El Sherbiny held meeting on Monday with the representative of the Egypt Real Estate Platform Ahmed El Batrawy to explore cooperation opportunities in the field of digital transformation. The meeting was attended by officials from the ministry and the New Urban Communities Authority, as per a Cabinet statement. El Sherbiny emphasised that there is strong coordination between the ministry and the platform regarding the provision of data for 400,000 housing units included in the latest offering. He added that a database of all units completed in new cities would also be made available on the platform as part of a second phase, and cooperation will proceed according to a set roadmap to establish a fully integrated real estate database for Egypt. The minister stressed the goal of digitising all manual transactions currently undertaken by new city authorities and ministry bodies, aiming for full digital transformation of all dealings with housing units in the near future. During the meeting, El Sherbiny received a detailed presentation on the platform's operational mechanism, global examples of similar platforms, and the anticipated impact on Egypt's real estate sector. He reaffirmed the ministry's full support for the Egypt Real Estate Platform to regulate and govern the real estate system and to develop new strategies to attract and encourage foreign investment in Egypt, whether through promoting real estate exports or marketing domestically.
