Egypt's Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met with Gambia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Mamadou Tangara to discuss enhancing cooperation in healthcare and pharmaceutical manufacturing, according to a Cabinet statement. The meeting tackled means to transfer Egypt's healthcare expertise to Gambia. Both ministers commended their countries' efforts in developing modern healthcare strategies and investing in human capital. The discussions focused on investment opportunities in healthcare sectors, particularly in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with Abdel Ghaffar emphasising Egypt's achievements, skilled workforce, and production capabilities. The two sides also agreed to expand training programmes for Gambian healthcare professionals in Egypt and reaffirmed their commitment to universal health coverage and equitable access to healthcare services.
