Egyptian Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk on Thursday took part in the Egyptian-Bulgarian Business Forum, held in Cairo, alongside Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El Wazir, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georgi Georgiev, and Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce head Ahmed El-Wakil. Farouk highlighted the growing momentum in Egypt-Bulgaria relations, driven by shared visions and common aspirations of both countries' leaderships. In his remarks, Farouk underlined the pivotal role of his ministry in ensuring food security and social stability. He noted the ministry's ongoing efforts to engage with international partners and praised Bulgaria's support in supplying wheat to Egypt during times of global market disruptions. He emphasised the forum's role in facilitating direct meetings between business leaders from both countries, which could lead to new investment partnerships in agriculture, industry, energy, technology, and defence. Farouk added that the ministry welcomes strategic investments in modernising Egypt's commercial infrastructure, especially in strategic storage facilities, logistics zones, and model markets. He also called for stronger cooperation to enhance economic resilience and secure supply chains amid ongoing global challenges. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S. Salama
