Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib met with Indonesian Ambassador Lotfi Rauf in Cairo to discuss opportunities for strengthening economic ties between the two countries in different sectors, as per an official statement.
El-Khatib highlighted the strong strategic relationship between the two nations, emphasising Egypt's appeal as an attractive investment destination with competitive advantages. He underscored the importance of private sector collaboration in key areas of interest for both countries.
El-Khatib emphasised the need to focus on economic collaboration that yields mutual benefit for the people of both countries. He noted preparations are underway for the Egyptian-Indonesian Business Forum at the end of this month.
The forum will facilitate direct meetings between Egyptian and Indonesian companies through business matchmaking sessions and B2B meetings, with the Indonesian Deputy Minister of Economy and his delegation in attendance.
He reaffirmed Egypt's full commitment to supporting all efforts that promote bilateral relations with Indonesia, calling for the current political momentum to be transformed into tangible cooperative projects that benefit both economies.
For his part, Ambassador Lotfi Rauf expressed his country's keenness to advance joint cooperation to new horizons, particularly in the fields of investment, infrastructure, and artificial intelligence (AI).
