Egypt's Public Business Sector Minister Mohamed Shimi met with Indonesian Ambassador Lotfi Rauf and his accompanying delegation to discuss strengthening economic, trade, and investment cooperation, as per a Cabinet statement on Thursday. The discussions included an overview of the activities of the ministry's affiliated companies, as well as several available investment opportunities and potential partnerships between these companies and the Indonesian side. Shimi highlighted the longstanding ties between Egypt and Indonesia, stressing the importance of further strengthening cooperation, particularly in manufacturing, trade, and investment, according to the statement. He noted that this aligns with the strategic partnership and growing ties between the two countries, aiming to attract investment in public sector companies that support sustainable development and shared interests. Shimi also underlined the ministry's commitment to enhancing private sector partnerships, attracting investment, and enhancing company performance through knowledge transfer and better asset utilisation. The Indonesian Ambassador expressed his country's interest in expanding economic cooperation with Egypt.
