Egypt's Suez Canal Authority (SCA) is considering transit fee discounts of 12 to 15 per cent in a bid to revive traffic through the strategic waterway, which has been severely disrupted by ongoing Houthi attacks in the Red Sea. Authority head Osama Rabie said the cuts could be introduced within days pending approval from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. Rabie's remarks followed talks with shipping agencies calling for temporary incentives to ease surging insurance costs for Red Sea transit. Attribution: Reuters Subediting: M. S. Salama
