Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawy, met with S. Sushma, Acting Ambassador of India, and senior executives from top Indian fertiliser and petrochemical companies on Tuesday, including Ostwal Group, FACT, HURL, and RCF. The meeting focused on enhancing Egypt-India cooperation in the petroleum and mineral sectors, with Minister Badawy highlighting Egypt's strategy to produce high-quality, value-added products. He emphasised opportunities for collaboration in mineral extraction, green energy, and projects such as green ammonia and hydrogen. Both sides agreed to set up a joint working group to explore investment opportunities and strengthen ties on key strategic projects. Sushma noted that India already imports significant quantities of fertilisers from Egypt and is seeking long-term agreements for food and fertiliser supplies. Indian executives also expressed interest in investing in Egypt's phosphate and urea fertiliser sectors, as well as phosphoric acid production and mining. The delegation plans to visit Egypt's Abu Tartour area to evaluate its phosphate capabilities. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: Y.Yasser
