Egypt's General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) witnessed the groundbreaking of the Xin Feng Integrated Complex for Metal Industries in the Sokhna Integrated Zone, a project with total investments of $1.65 billion, approximately EGP 82.5 billion. Spanning 3.75 million square metres, the project will be implemented over five years and is set to include nine factories and two comprehensive service centres — one for research and development (R&D) and another for solid waste recycling. The complex is expected to create over 8,000 direct jobs throughout its development phases. The first phase comprises four factories producing car brake disc components, household appliance components, standard fasteners such as bolts and nuts, and hot-rolled steel coils. The second phase will include factories for aluminium and magnesium alloy automotive components, steel structure equipment, car brake drum components, construction machinery parts, and cold-rolled steel coils.
