South Korea's SK Telecom Company shares dropped 8.5 per cent on Monday to their lowest level since August last year due to a recent cyberattack that led to a customer data leak. The company stated that it would accept full responsibility for any harm caused by the breach discovered on April 18. It characterised the incident as a significant data leak caused by malware, but did not offer further specifics. SK Telecom will provide free universal subscriber identity module (USIM) replacements to all 23 million users at 2,600 retail stores nationwide starting Monday. Customers are encouraged to sign up for the USIM Protection Service for equivalent prevention. Attribution: Reuters Subediting: M. S. Salama
