Egypt has allocated 17.5 billion Egyptian pounds in public investments to the agriculture and irrigation sectors as part of its development plan for the FY2025/26, according to Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat. The plan also targets $5 billion in agricultural export revenues during the same period. Speaking during a plenary session of the House of Representatives, Al-Mashat reviewed key features of the real economy sectors included in the plan, which aligns with the structural reforms pursued under the government's programme of action. The minister underscored that the plan prioritises investment and agricultural development, with a focus on expanding land reclamation programmes in areas such as Toshka, North and Central Sinai, and the New Delta.
