The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Green Climate Fund (GCF) have extended a US$4 million Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) to Jordan's Microfund for Women (MFW), including US$1 million in GCF co-financing. The funding, under the GCF-GEFF regional framework, aims to boost green lending to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), with a focus on expanding startups and women-led businesses across Jordan. This is the second green loan to MFW following a US$2 million facility in 2022. MFW will also receive technical assistance from the EBRD, the EU, and GCF to enhance green finance capacity, support climate adaptation, and deliver gender-responsive lending. The EBRD will further assist entrepreneurs through its Advice for Small Businesses programme. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S. Salama
