The Egypt-France Business Forum commenced in Cairo on Monday with a broad participation of officials and business representatives from both countries, the Egyptian Cabinet reported. CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Hossam Heiba highlighted the importance of French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Egypt, marking a significant step in deepening economic ties. Heiba noted that Egypt's foreign direct investment reached $46.6 billion in 2024. He outlined ambitious targets to attract $60 billion in investments and increase exports to $145 billion by 2030. He further noted that France is a key partner for Egypt, with French investments exceeding $7 billion, creating over 50,000 jobs through more than 180 French companies operating in the Egyptian market. The Franco-Egyptian Business Council (CFEA) Chairman Ayman Ezzat stressed that ongoing reforms and private sector involvement have led to successful partnerships in sectors like education, transport, and infrastructure. France's Ministry of Foreign Trade Chief Operating Officer Didier Boulogne confirmed France's commitment to expanding its investments in Egypt, which is its largest European investment destination.
